Therapeutic Intervention (Court-Appointed)
$175 per hour | $2,000 Advance Fee
A Therapeutic Interventionist (TI), or sometimes Court Interventionist (CI), is a Court-Appointed role which may describe a range of therapeutic services by a behavioral health professional, including:
- Individual counseling
- Family counseling
Therapeutic intervention is often helpful in bringing about healthy change or stabilizing a family that has been negatively affected by, for example, litigation, relocation of a parent, child estrangement, substance use in one or both parents, or child maltreatment. Therapy by court-appointment differs from other types of therapy in terms of its confidentiality. The appointee is an extension of the Court and provides updates and reports to the judge and attorneys.
Dr. DiCarlo's process promotes a safe and equitable venue for working towards repairing strained or wounded interrelationships within a family. If you or your attorney believe this type of intervention may assist your family, please see the following instructions to initiate the process with your judicial officer.
$150 per hour | Private Pay only
Selecting a therapist can be a challenging task, and sometimes positive outcomes have as much to do with the degree of fit between a client and therapist as it does their knowledge and experience. Clients should feel empowered to find the best match for themselves. If you would like to meet in person for a brief consult, Dr. DiCarlo would be happy to tell you more about his therapeutic approach and answer any questions you have. If its not a good fit, he will help you find someone who may meet your needs.
Dr. DiCarlo's background and training as a counseling psychologist informs his placement of therapeutic process and outcomes at the forefront of clinical practice. Dr. DiCarlo is trained in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Compassionate Bereavement Care (CBC), but above all, he emphasize the quality of the therapeutic relationship.
Traumatic Grief Counseling
$150 per hour*
Experiencing the death of a child, or any untimely death as a result of violence, suicide, or homicide are among life's most tragic experiences. Dr. DiCarlo is certified in Compassionate Bereavement Care (CBC), a mindfulness-based non-medicalized approach to help individuals and families navigate traumatic grief. CBC is different than other types of therapy in that we recognize and honor the experience of grief and suffering and how it has the power to transform individuals, for better or worse. Integrating traumatic loss into one own's experience in a healthy manner is a lifelong undertaking that requires patience and wisdom.
Dr. DiCarlo's approach using CBC can help family members navigate healing and when ready, build a sense of hope for the future.
*Because Dr. DiCarlo believes that finances should not be a barrier to assisting loved ones with such losses, various fee options can be discussed. Please call for a free consultation to discuss your circumstances. For more information about the CBC values or approach, or to locate other Compassionate Bereavement Care certified providers, please visit the MISS Foundation.
